The Carriageway

The Carriageway is a heritage-listed mid-Victorian town house located at 506–508 Smollett Street in Albury, New South Wales, Australia. Built around 1860 during Albury's development as a border post and steamer port, it has served various roles including an inn and private residence. The building features distinctive architectural elements such as four jerkinhead gables, stucco decorations, and an elaborate balcony with iron fencing. Recognized for its historical and aesthetic significance, it was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register in 1999. The Carriageway stands as a rare example of 19th-century urban housing, contributing to Albury's rich architectural landscape.
