Durant-Dort Factory One

Durant-Dort Factory One, located in Flint, Michigan, is a historic building that has transformed from a cotton textile factory built in 1880 to a significant site in the automotive industry, often regarded as the birthplace of General Motors. After serving various businesses over the decades, it was restored by GM and reopened in 2017 as a conference and event space, as well as home to Kettering University's automotive archive. The facility showcases historic vehicles and offers a climate-controlled archive with around 100,000 documents and artifacts related to Flint's automotive history, making it a valuable destination for tourists and researchers alike.
