Founding and growth of UNLV

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) was established in 1957 as Nevada Southern University and later renamed UNLV in 1969. The campus has grown into a major public research university with athletic venues, such as the Thomas & Mack Center, and programs that have influenced the region's hospitality and entertainment workforce.
