Heilig-Geist-Spital

The Heilig-Geist-Spital, or Holy Spirit Hospital, is a historic site in Nuremberg, Germany, originally established in 1339 to provide care for the ill, elderly, and poor. Once the largest hospital in the Free Imperial City, it also housed the Imperial Regalia, including the Holy Lance, from 1424 to 1796. The regalia were displayed annually in a worship show and used during coronations. Today, the building, which is partly constructed over the Pegnitz river, operates as a restaurant and senior home, offering visitors a glimpse into its rich history.
