Joseph Lovering House

The Joseph Lovering House, located at 38 Kirkland Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is a historic Greek Revival wood-frame house built in 1839. Originally constructed by prominent builder Oliver Hastings, it was later owned by Joseph Lovering, a Harvard math professor, and remained in his family until 1941. After serving as a nursing home, the house was acquired by Harvard University in 1961 and now houses the Center for Middle Eastern Studies. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in American history and architecture.
