Palácio da Ponta Vermelha

The Palácio da Ponta Vermelha, located in Maputo, is the official residence of the president of Mozambique. Originally built as a warehouse for railway construction, it was transformed into the residence of the Portuguese governor before becoming the presidential palace after Mozambique's independence in 1975. The name 'Ponta Vermelha' refers to the area rather than the building itself and is often used to symbolize the Mozambican presidency.
