Hammond House (Calvert, Texas)

The Hammond House, a striking example of Gothic Revival architecture, was constructed in 1875 and is located in Calvert, Texas. This historic two-story building, designed by St. Louis architect W.T. Ingraham, features a distinctive crenellated parapet. Although intended to serve as the courthouse for Robertson County, it never fulfilled this role due to the county seat's relocation. The house is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark and is part of the Calvert Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1970.
