Howard Steamboat Museum

The Howard Steamboat Museum, located in Jeffersonville, Indiana, is a historic house museum dedicated to the rich history of steamboats and the Howard Shipyards. Built in 1890 by Edmonds J. Howard, the mansion showcases 90% original furnishings and features stunning architectural details in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. Visitors can explore themed rooms, including a Moorish music parlor and a library, while viewing a significant collection of maritime artifacts. The museum, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, also highlights the legacy of the Howard Shipyards, which constructed over 1,100 river vessels during their operation.
