This architecturally significant building features a rectangular Neo-Classical design with Flemish bond brick and marble detailing, including a gabled portico supported by Tuscan columns. It was constructed during the Great Depression as part of a federal program to create jobs. The post office, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, reflects the town's history, having replaced earlier post office locations that were typically housed in commercial establishments.
