House of the Temple - Scottish Rite headquarters and library

The House of the Temple at 1733 16th St NW serves as the headquarters of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Southern Jurisdiction, and houses an extensive Masonic museum and library. Designed by architect John Russell Pope, the building was completed in the early 20th century and is noted for its Beaux-Arts architecture. The site is a less-touristed landmark near Dupont Circle that hosts occasional public programs and exhibits.
