La Antorcha de la Amistad (Torch of Friendship)

La Antorcha de la Amistad is a large red abstract steel sculpture by Mexican artist Sebastián (Enrique Carbajal). The sculpture stands roughly 65 feet tall and is a prominent modern landmark in downtown San Antonio near Alamo Plaza. Its bright red, twisting form contrasts with surrounding historic buildings and is frequently cited as an iconic but unconventional piece of public art in the city.
