O. T. Bassett Tower

The O. T. Bassett Tower is a stunning Art Deco skyscraper located in Downtown El Paso, Texas, at 303 Texas Avenue. Completed in 1930, it stands 217 feet tall with 15 stories and features distinctive setbacks on the tenth and thirteenth floors. Designed by renowned architect Henry Trost, the tower showcases intricate stone and terra cotta decorations, including a sculpted face believed to represent Trost himself. Once the tallest building in El Paso, it was surpassed later that same year. The tower was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, making it a significant landmark for both tourists and researchers interested in architectural history.
