Tower of David (northeast tower)

The Tower of David, located in the Citadel of Jerusalem, is a historical structure believed to be one of the Herodian towers built by King Herod the Great. It served as a crucial defensive point for the city and has a rich history, having survived the Roman destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. The tower, which has been identified as either the Phasael or Hippicus Tower, was named during the Byzantine period, mistakenly associating it with King David's palace.
