Southwestern Bell Main Dial Building

The Southwestern Bell Main Dial Building, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a historic telephone exchange building constructed in 1924 for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Initially designed as a two-story Gothic Revival structure, it housed the city's first automatic dial equipment. In 1930, the building was expanded with four additional floors in a Zig Zag Art Deco style to accommodate growing operations. The building features distinctive architectural elements, including large arched windows and terra cotta detailing. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, reflecting its significance in the history of telecommunications in Tulsa, which began in the late 19th century.
