Blooming Grove (Florence, South Carolina)

Blooming Grove, also known as the Mandeville-Rogers House, is a historic plantation house near Florence, South Carolina, built around 1790 with a notable two-story addition completed by 1820. This I-house features an Early Classical Revival portico and includes a historic brick-lined well on the property. The house is linked to Frank Mandeville Rogers, a significant figure in the promotion of Bright Leaf tobacco in the region, and it has a complex history involving the ownership of 92 slaves. Blooming Grove was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005, making it an important site for both tourists and researchers interested in Southern history and architecture.
