Mossehaus

Mossehaus is a historically significant office building located at 18–25 Schützenstraße in Berlin, originally designed by Cremer & Wolffenstein in 1901 and later renovated by architect Erich Mendelsohn between 1921 and 1923. Initially serving as the headquarters for liberal newspapers owned by Rudolf Mosse, the building features a striking sandstone façade and was one of the first examples of streamlined architecture, influencing the Streamline Moderne style. Despite suffering extensive damage during World War II and the construction disaster in 1923 that claimed 14 lives, Mossehaus was restored in the 1990s. Today, it stands as a testament to Berlin's architectural evolution, although it is now overshadowed by modern towers nearby.
