Originally commissioned by David Kidd, an innovative wholesale stationer and inventor of the modern gummed envelope, the house features intricate architectural designs by notable architects Brown & Wardrop and David Bryce. Despite Kidd's passing before its completion, the house has a rich history, having been home to various notable owners, including the Inglis family and the Wolfe-Murray family.
