Christ Church (Old Christ Church)

Christ Church in Old City traces its parish back to 1695 as a Church of England congregation. The 18th-century church building served as the Anglican parish attended by prominent colonial figures, including George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. The church is adjacent to the Christ Church Burial Ground, where several notable Philadelphians are interred. Christ Church is a designated National Historic Landmark and remains an active Episcopal parish.
