Dexter Arnold Farmstead

The Dexter Arnold Farmstead, located on Chopmist Hill Road in Scituate, Rhode Island, is a historic site featuring a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house built in 1813. This well-preserved property spans 3.6 acres and includes five outbuildings that date back to the same era, making it a unique example of rural architecture in Rhode Island. The main barn, although lost to the New England Hurricane of 1938, adds to the site's historical significance. The farmstead remained in the Arnold family until 1975 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977, making it an interesting destination for tourists and researchers alike.
