Modale School and Masonic Hall

The Modale School and Masonic Hall, built in 1880 in Modale, Iowa, is a historic building that reflects the architectural style of 19th century schoolhouses, resembling a church with its prominent bell tower. Originally serving as a school, it was transformed into a theater and Masonic lodge hall in 1911, featuring Colonial Revival details and Masonic symbols. After the local lodge dissolved in 2004, the building was donated to Town and Country Arts and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
