Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge (Zakim)

The Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge completed in 2003 as part of Boston's Central Artery/Tunnel Project (the 'Big Dig'). It was named for civil rights leader Leonard P. Zakim and carries traffic on Interstate 93 and U.S. Route 1 across the Charles River. The bridge's distinctive cable towers have become an iconic visual element of Boston's skyline and are prominently visible from the nearby TD Garden.
