Royal Mint (Spain)

The Royal Mint of Spain, known as Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre, is the national mint and a public corporation under the Ministry of Economy. Established in the 18th century, it became a state monopoly under King Philip V. The mint has a rich history, having produced various currencies and stamps, and today operates two plants in Madrid and Burgos, where euro banknotes are printed. Visitors can explore the Museo Casa de la Moneda located in its headquarters, and the historic mint in Segovia also features a museum. The Royal Mint gained international fame as the backdrop for the popular Spanish television series Money Heist.
