Sauser–Lane House

The Sauser–Lane House, built in 1908 in Cascade, Iowa, is a unique historic residence that showcases a blend of Neoclassical and Edwardian architectural styles. Designed by the Grand Rapids firm Jacob H. Daverman and Son, it stands as the only example of their work in Iowa. The house features distinctive elements such as asymmetrical massing, bay windows, a wraparound porch, and leaded glass windows. Originally owned by farmer Michael H. Sauser, it has remained in the family since its purchase by John Thomas Lane in 1926. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, making it a noteworthy destination for tourists and researchers interested in early 20th-century architecture.
