Unity Building (Chicago)

The Unity Building, located at 127 North Dearborn Street in the Chicago Loop, was a prominent 17-story skyscraper that held the title of the tallest building in Chicago upon its completion in 1892. Designed by John Peter Altgeld, who later became the Governor of Illinois, the building is notable for hosting the first meeting of the Rotary Club of Chicago in 1905. Recognized for its historical significance, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places before being demolished in 1989, with its designation later rescinded.
