Sharpless Homestead

The Sharpless Homestead, also known as the Radley Farm, is a historic house and farm complex located in Birmingham Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011, this site features four green, serpentine stone buildings constructed between 1790 and 1860, including a farmhouse, stable, springhouse, and smokehouse. The main farmhouse, originally built around 1790 and rebuilt in 1860, showcases unique architectural elements with its 2+1⁄2-story, four-bay design. Notably, it is the birthplace of Isaac Sharpless, a prominent figure in education as a professor and president of Haverford College, making it a significant landmark for both tourists and researchers interested in American history and architecture.
