Raymond C. and Mildred Kramer House

The Raymond C. and Mildred Kramer House, located at 32 East 74th Street on Manhattan's Upper East Side, is an early Modern-style townhouse designed by architect William Lescaze in the mid-1930s. Originally built for textile merchant Raymond C. Kramer and his wife Mildred, the house features a striking facade of glass blocks, frosted glass windows, and blue-enameled steel panels. After Mildred's passing, the house served as Madagascar's mission to the United Nations before being sold and renovated in 2015. With 6,800 square feet of interior space, the house retains much of its original exterior design while the interior has undergone significant modifications. Its unique architectural style and historical significance make it an intriguing site for tourists and researchers alike.
