Trinity Church (Copley Square)

Designed by architect H. H. Richardson and completed in 1877, Trinity Church is the seminal example of Richardsonian Romanesque in the United States. Its heavy masonry, broad rounded arches, and polychrome stonework influenced late 19th-century American architecture. The church's interior and overall design played a major role in establishing Boston's architectural identity in Copley Square.
