Golden Grove, Carmarthenshire

Golden Grove, or Gelli Aur in Welsh, is a historic mansion and estate located in Carmarthenshire, Wales, just 4 miles from Llandeilo. Originally built in 1560, the estate has seen three iterations of the mansion, with the current structure completed in 1834 by architect Sir Jeffry Wyatville. The estate features stunning Scottish Baronial architecture and is surrounded by beautiful gardens, including a Grade II listed arboretum and deer park. Golden Grove has a rich history, having been occupied by notable families and even the US Army during World War II. Today, it is managed by the Golden Grove Trust, which aims to restore the estate and promote cultural activities. The estate has also gained recognition in popular culture, serving as a filming location for the BBC series 'Decline and Fall' and the film 'Six Minutes to Midnight'.
