International Rose Test Garden

The International Rose Test Garden in Washington Park was established in 1917 to test and preserve rose varieties and is one of the oldest public rose test gardens in the United States. The garden contains hundreds of rose varieties arranged in formal beds and offers panoramic views of the city and West Hills. It is a longstanding cultural and horticultural icon for the Washington Park neighborhood and a frequent destination during the annual Portland Rose Festival.
