Fremont Street is the historic downtown core within city limits

Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas is located inside the municipal boundaries of the City of Las Vegas and was the city's original commercial center before the rise of the Strip. The Fremont Street Experience canopy and the surrounding casinos occupy addresses that are officially part of Las Vegas, not unincorporated Paradise. This creates a geographic contrast between the municipal downtown and the largely unincorporated resort corridor to the south. Fremont Street remains a distinct urban district administered by the city.
