Model Timber Home

Model Timber Home is a heritage-listed timber-framed house located in Floreat, Western Australia, designed by Reginald Summerhayes in 1934. It emerged from a competition aimed at creating an affordable modern home during the Great Depression. This Californian Bungalow style residence showcases original features and furnishings, retaining its historical authenticity, including the garden and outdoor structures. As one of the first architect-designed homes in Floreat, it represents early urban planning principles and is a rare example of weatherboard construction in the area. The house is significant for its architectural style and its role in the development of one of Perth's first suburbs.
