San Francisco Columbarium

The San Francisco Columbarium is a historic neoclassical repository for cremated remains located in the Richmond District; it contains thousands of niches, funerary monuments, and stained-glass details. Constructed in the late 19th century and later restored, the columbarium is owned by the city and is open to the public for visits and genealogical research by appointment. It is one of the few surviving funerary structures within San Francisco city limits.
