Mission San Francisco de la Espada (Mission Espada)

Mission Espada is an 18th-century Spanish mission and part of the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park; its church and ancillary buildings date largely to the mid-1700s. The site includes the historic Espada acequia irrigation system, a preserved example of colonial-era hydraulic engineering that served mission agriculture. The mission's stone masonry church and associated structures are significant examples of Spanish Colonial architecture in Texas.
