Sällskapet is an exclusive gentlemen's club located in central Stockholm, Sweden, founded on December 1, 1800, by a group of 91 socialites inspired by London's private clubs. The club's purpose-built clubhouse, designed by architect Johan Fredrik Åbom, features an exact replica of the renowned Hotel Rydberg's banqueting hall, making it the only place to enjoy the classical Swedish dish 'Biff Rydberg' in its original setting. With a membership capped at 2,000, including notable members like King Carl XVI Gustaf, Sällskapet offers luxurious facilities such as lounges, a billiards room, and a library with over 15,000 books. While membership is male-only, members can invite female guests and children under certain conditions, making it a unique destination for those interested in Swedish culture and history.
