Stormwater utility fee funding drainage projects

Denver collects a dedicated stormwater utility fee assessed to most properties; the fee is administered by Denver Public Works and appears on city utility billing. Revenue from the fee is used for storm sewer maintenance, capital stormwater infrastructure projects, detention basins, and street sweeping to reduce flooding and improve water quality. These investments are intended to limit runoff and pollutant discharges to local waterways such as Cherry Creek and the South Platte River.
