Daniel Pinkham House

The Daniel Pinkham House, located at 400 The Hill in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is a remarkable example of Federal period architecture, built between 1813 and 1815. This historic three-story wood-frame structure features a low-pitch hip roof and a clapboard exterior, with a five-bay facade and a distinctive center entrance flanked by Adamesque pilasters. The house showcases original interior woodwork, including cornices and doors, attributed to local cabinetmaker Isaac Pinkham. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, the house is part of a historic cluster known as The Hill, which emerged from a road works project in the 1970s.
