Mission San José mission-period cemetery

Mission San José y San Miguel de Aguayo, part of San Antonio Missions National Historical Park, has an associated mission-period cemetery. Archaeological excavations at the mission have documented human burials dating to the 18th and 19th centuries. Skeletal remains and burial features recovered during fieldwork have been recorded, analyzed, and curated by the National Park Service.
