The Skirvin Hotel (William Skirvin)

The Skirvin Hotel was built by entrepreneur William Skirvin and opened in 1911 as one of Oklahoma City's earliest luxury hotels. Skirvin sought to attract commercial travelers and visitors tied to the city's growing oil and business sectors. Over the 20th century the hotel hosted performers, politicians, and national figures. It closed in the late 1980s and was restored and reopened as a historic downtown hotel in 2007.
