Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens

Hillwood was the residence of Marjorie Merriweather Post and was developed in the 1920s–1950s as a suburban estate with formal gardens. Post bequeathed the house, gardens, and her collection of Russian imperial art and French decorative arts to the public, and the site opened as a museum in 1977. The collection includes Fabergé, Russian Orthodox icons, and 18th-century French decorative arts displayed in a preserved historic house and landscaped grounds.
