Court Charity

Court Charity is a historic building located on Burenstraat in the heart of Paramaribo, Suriname. Established in 1886, it serves as a friendly society of the Foresters Friendly Society and is recognized as a monument since 1994. The building features a unique architectural style that blends Surinamese elements with distinct towers and a mansard roof. Inside, visitors can find a beautifully decorated meeting room with paintings and a vaulted ceiling depicting a starry sky. The society has a rich history, having grown significantly since its inception, and continues to serve its community, although it faces challenges in attracting younger members.
