Varnum Building

The Varnum Building was a historic mixed-use commercial and residential structure located in Lowell, Massachusetts. Constructed in 1882, it featured a distinctive four-story wood-frame design with an angled front and a square cupola. Originally housing an insurance business, it stood as one of the oldest commercial buildings on Bridge Street until it was tragically lost to an electrically ignited fire in 2010, leading to its demolition shortly thereafter. The building was recognized for its historical significance by being added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
