Pozdeyev Estate

The Yakov Pozdeyev Estate, located in Ustyuzhna, Vologda Oblast, Russia, is a significant architectural monument and cultural heritage site of federal importance. Built in the 1870s by influential merchant Yakov Mikhaylovich Pozdeyev, the estate served as a community center and guesthouse, hosting notable visitors like John of Kronstadt. The estate features a richly decorated two-story mansion and stables, showcasing intricate stucco work and artistic details. After the 1917 Revolution, it was repurposed for cultural institutions, including a cinema. Today, it houses the Ustyuzhna district library and remains a focal point of Torgovaya Square, commemorating its historical significance and Pozdeyev's legacy in local commerce.
