Art Car Museum ("Garage Mahal")

The Art Car Museum, nicknamed the 'Garage Mahal', was founded in 1998 to exhibit art cars, contemporary art, and vehicle-based artworks and is closely associated with Houston’s annual Don’t Mess with Texas-themed Art Car Parade. Its collection and rotating exhibitions feature highly decorated vehicles and sculptures that are extensively photographed at events and on display. Images of the museum’s colorful and unconventional vehicles are often shared online and repurposed in memes, image macros, and social-media posts highlighting bizarre or whimsical automotive art.
