Aspen Hall (Martinsburg, West Virginia)

Aspen Hall, also known as the Edward Beeson House, is a historic Georgian-style stone house built in 1771, making it the oldest house in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Originally constructed as a fortified home by Edward Beeson I, it features a grand entrance hall and intricately paneled interior rooms. The property also includes Mendenhall's Fort, a blockhouse built in 1755 for defense during the French and Indian War, which was noted by George Washington. Aspen Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and is part of the Boyd Avenue Historic District, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American history.
