Edward Waters University (Durkeeville)

Edward Waters University is a private historically Black university founded in 1866 and is the oldest HBCU in Florida. The campus is located in the Durkeeville neighborhood and offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The institution was founded to educate freedmen after the Civil War and remains a longstanding educational and cultural anchor in its neighborhood.
