Michigan Central Station

Michigan Central Station opened in 1913 as Detroit’s main intercity rail station and is notable for its Beaux-Arts architecture and twin towers. It closed to passenger service in 1988 and stood largely vacant for decades, becoming an iconic symbol of the city’s mid-20th-century decline. Ford Motor Company purchased the building in 2018 and has been engaged in a multi-phase restoration and redevelopment to convert it into a mixed-use campus.
