John E.L. Huse Memorial School

The John E.L. Huse Memorial School, located in Bath, Maine, is a historic building constructed in 1942 as part of a federal initiative to support defense industry workers during World War II. Designed by local architect Alonzo J. Harriman, the school served the community until its closure in 2006 and has since been converted into residential units. Notable for its unadorned brick exterior and a distinctive auditorium wing, the school is named after John Huse, Bath's first casualty of the war.
