Sarmadzhiev House

The Sarmadzhiev House is a stunning Neo-Baroque residence located in central Sofia, Bulgaria, designed by the renowned architect Friedrich Grünanger in 1903. Originally built for lawyer and diplomat Haralampi Sarmadzhiev, the house has a rich history, having served as the residence of the Turkish ambassador since it was acquired by the Ottoman Empire in 1916. Visitors can admire its elegant Viennese Imperial Baroque architecture, featuring a beautifully decorated facade, a flat-roofed turret, and a stained-glass antechamber. The house also holds historical significance as the former office of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk during his time in Sofia. Today, it stands as a protected cultural monument, showcasing the architectural and historical heritage of Bulgaria.
