Liberty National Life Complex

The Liberty National Life Complex is a notable corporate office complex in downtown Birmingham, Alabama, featuring two interconnected buildings. The original 10-story structure, built in 1925, once showcased a replica of the Statue of Liberty atop its roof, which has since been relocated. The second building, originally a 10-story structure from 1952, was expanded to 16 stories in 1971. This complex served as the headquarters for Liberty National Life and its parent company, Torchmark Corporation, until 2006. Visitors can also spot the large 'Torch' logo of the company on the south side of the complex, although it is partially obscured by a parking deck built in 1991.
