C.F. Franke House

The C.F. Franke House, built in 1916, is a notable historic building in Mason City, Iowa, showcasing the unique Mason City variant of the Prairie School architectural style. This two-story structure features a distinctive stucco exterior and visually striking wall panels created through corbelled masonry. Despite the second story's eaves being cut back, the house retains a strong horizontal emphasis, highlighted by its grouping of casement windows. Recognized for its historical significance, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, making it an interesting site for both tourists and researchers.
